What about warranty claims?
I figure you'll be fine/status quo, as the new RTIC warranty is only 90 days anyways. They would likely refund you or provide you with whatever new model they'll be making.  I am not certain as to what part of their current design violates Yeti. Yeti's lawsuit claims unfair competition and "trade dress" - meaning that the coolers and drinkware are substantially similar to their design.  I don't think there's any doubt about that being true. It could be something as simple as the latches, or as complicated as the internal insulation of the rotomolded coolers.  Either way if they have enough cash they'll redesign and be back with new coolers soon.

Yeti didn't file suit against the dozen or so others that have recently started making roto coolers, so its either that RTIC was their biggest competitor/knockoff or that they're the ones that most closely copied the design.

Update: Yeti filed suit against walmart for the tumblers, due to "trade dress" - meaning that the tumblers looked substantially similar to their own.  Same thing though, Walmart could theoretically redesign them.

I mean its probably fair for Yeti to have filed suit for trade dress infringement when RTIC puts an advertisement on their website like this...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trade_dress
Trade dress is a legal term of art that generally refers to characteristics of the visual appearance of a product or its packaging (or even the design of a building) that signify the source of the product to consumers.  Trade dress is a form of intellectual property.

I'm sure our local IP lawyer (Mr. Yakuza) could provide more insight if he felt like it.

FYI - I just saw this on RTIC's Facebook Page.

"RTIC IS VERY PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE AN AGREEMENT REACHED WITH YETI
RTIC, the leading direct to consumer online retailer of premium coolers and drinkware announces that it has entered into a settlement agreement with YETI today for the purpose of avoiding the additional costs and uncertainty of continued litigation. The dispute has been amicably resolved and as part of the agreement, RTIC has agreed to redesign only those products involved in the dispute.
As part of the Agreement, RTIC is precluded from commenting further, but RTIC is very pleased with the settlement and considers it a win.
RTIC had previously announced last month changes to its 2017 product lines and expects to rollout new products and updated existing products starting in early Spring. RTIC will continue to operate as normal selling all the RTIC brand of products as provided on the www.RTICcoolers.com website keeping true to its promise to deliver "Over Built – Not Over Priced" products to all its RTIC fans & customers.
About RTIC
RTIC is the leading direct to consumer online retailer of premium coolers and drinkware. It was founded by twin brothers John and Jim Jacobsen and has generated almost 1.5 million followers on Facebook since shipping its first cooler in September 2015 and now employs over 100 people. RTIC is based in the Houston suburb of Cypress and owns fulfilment centers in Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, Harrisburg & Fresno occupying over 300,000 square feet of space."

As the sell out on Amazon, more are added.  I've seen 'em go from unavailable to 20 in stock at least 3 times now today.  If you want it off Amazon, and it's unavailable, check back in an hour and see if they put more up there.

Also, the basket and divider are not on Amazon.  If you want those, you gotta get 'em from their web site.

Better get them while you can, Yeti won their lawsuit for patient infringement, and RTIC needs the $$ to cover fines. Also, might not hold breath for this to last much longer.

Amazon says unavailable. The website says they are sold out of the 45 & 65. Bought a 20 for $100 as don't think we'll ever see this kind of deal again. Won't need another for a very long time.
Maybe Jerry will be right and they throw some more up on Amazon
