RIP Brother Joel

Received the news this evening and am left sad and speechless.  Joel is the Godfather of NCKA.  He welcomed many of us into this sport of kayak fishing and touched all of our lives in many ways.  I will miss you brother ... calm waters.

Best ambassador for NCKA and kayaking and a damn good friend, to boot.

It will be a somber week for Linda and me.  I think many of us second gen NCKAers will agree that It didn't feel official until Joel welcomed you.

RIP Joel, the soul of NCKA.  May we all strive to be as caring, generous, open and loving as you always were.
 

Oh man I was just with him Saturday.  We were shark fishing off Eden Landing.  He finally got to come out to see our research.    Joel, so glad you to have had you as a friend.  I won't forget the fun times.  Rest in peace my brother.
