Here’s another West Coast qualifier for the USA Saltwater Nationals in Pompano Beach, FL on August 9th.  Top 10 will get an invite.  Do you think you have what it takes to become part of Team USA?

Is it a strict top 10, or do they roll down to like 15, anticipating that some invites will decline/drop out?

This is really really cool

Good question.  It will probably go down the list.  But really, where does one stop before it feels less legit?

To qualify for US National Triathlon Team and compete at age group world championships for Team USA, the governing body rolls down eligibility knowing many will drop out for various reasons.  Like for spring distance, top 8 per AG rolling down to 20th place, and Olympic distance is top 18 per AG rolling down to 30th place

That's from the hundreds of competitors competing at US nationals.  IDK how apt a reference, but is one example  :smt001
