It was fun to hang out with the OG crew that faithfully still attends this fun outing.  Alas, it did seem like not very many people made it.  Even the campground was kind of empty compared to years past.  And the weather was quite nice really, not blowing hard at all most of the time, but still pretty cold at night.  Still, hanging with my homies is awesome as always! Glad to have made it up, after figuring out my truck issue  :smt005 Doing some mussel foraging with Alex was a lot of fun too! Thanks to Victor I didn't go without the taste of crab this weekend, he was gracious enough to drop a couple off for us and I chowed one down right away.

Had a fun time out at the Crab and Chill this year.  Met my neighbor Josh who was camping and crabbing with his family.

Friday I did not make it out on the water - the 'crud' I've been fighting had too strong a grip on me.  Saturday I heard from Scotty after he launched, so I launched and met him on the water.  Scotty had one keeper rock crab with some nice mitts - I completely skunked - I caught one tiny crab (~1"), some snails, and a Starry Flounder in my net - they all went back to the brine undisturbed.

I headed out again Sunday morning before the games started, set my nets twice caught one keeper, and we enjoyed that while watching the KC/Buffalo game - the crab and game we great.

I thought the old square traps were illegal and so were overnight soaks?

Those restrictions were lifted.

supposed to be last full weekend of January. It's kind of fallen apart with no-one at the helm though. We booked 22-25th and will be there rain or shine :smt006
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!
