Greeting all - I haven't posted in a minute, probably since before the pandemic. Last year at this time I had 4 locations; now, down to 1 thankfully. In 2019 I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Nearly 50 years paddling whitewater has saved my sanity with this: Parkinson's is nothing more than another rapid, class 5 perhaps, in life's river. Portaging is not an option; I gotta run this sucker so buckle up. Given that, and waking up 2+ years ago realizing I was 70; it dawned on me that perhaps more fun and less business makes sense at this point. So, I was introduced to Bryan at Headwaters in Redding, we hit it off and within a few months he took over the CCK Rancho Cordova location. Yay; he's a great guy as many of you already know. Next, I was able to transfer our Redwood City location to David Wells, formerly of 101 Surf Sports in San Rafael. CCK Redwood City is now Redwood Water Sports. They have just become a new Hobie dealer and I am confident given some time they will be more than able to serve Peninsula kayak anglers. I hope they earn your support. Finally and perhaps sadly, I learned that our promised new dock at Brooklyn Basin in Oakland is not going to happen anytime soon if at all; therefore, we just finished closing that store and moved everything back to Jack London Square where we have been since 1993. Whew!

Where does that leave things as I transition out? Who knows but I do intend to leave the paddling community in good hands. In the meantime...

...we've got more boats from the other stores than we can handle. I have a number of large fishing craft I would like to re-home in the "no reasonable offer refused" category:
Hobie PA14 360 2022 version 1 drive Seagrass Green Camo $3799, save 2K 1 available
Hobie PA14 180 2022 Camo $3499, save 1.3K 1 available
Jackson Knarr FD 2022 $2850, below cost; save 1.35K 4 available
Jackson Bite Angler 2022 $699, save $400 2 available plus 1 used for $599

Call and/or come get'em, save some loot and help send me into retirement!

Finally, my new moniker is fast becoming "shakeyman". I respond favorably.

Cheers - Keith

Hey Keith, I was just at your shop last Friday picking up a Hobie through hull wiring kit for my latest project. When I was thinking about getting a kayak I took your Sea Kayaking 1 & 2 classes(passed), and a rolling class (failed). Taking the classes gave the confidence that I needed to move forward into this sport.

Your store is packed wall to wall with kayaks, and goodies to go with them. Good luck with your retirement efforts.

Hey Keith,

We here at Monterey Bay Kayaks will send people your way in that area as we always have done! Sounds like you are leaving everything in good hands and happy to see the shops will continue up there. Got to keep the kayak community strong!

Hey Keith,

Good to hear from you.
I have bought all of my kayaks from CCK over the years, starting with a Perception recreational that was quickly exchanged for his and hers Necky Looksha sport and Kevlar Looksha S kayaks back in the '90s. The classes and trips back then put me in good order for my more recent transition to the Hobie fishing scene.
Sad to hear that about the Brooklyn Basin store. That was a well-lit space.

Good luck on retirement or semi-retirement.
