You thinking he might catch so many you could get a couple of his extras? 🙂
Actually a little birdie told me some were picking up a flatty or two recently in our local waters......

Speaking of that smoker I really should have borrowed it from you when I had the herring, my jerry rigged gas grill required too much attention.

Good thing we understand little birdie language...I still love the idea of those saltwater monsters that they find in those 70-100 fow depth down yonder.  I wouldn't mind a 22.7 #'er outta these here 18 foot waters though any day...let's find that bait wait for that slow bendo de flattymama...I didn't find a scrap of herring this year but I didn't try very hard...going live bait, swimbait and slow pitch for sure this year...see ya' on da wattah' :smt006

Hi Sonny

I am not experiened with Adventure but replaced rudder line for our Hobie Oasis.  I think Adventure might be running a heavier line.  You can purchase just a line from a kayak shop or West Marine.  100 lb line is not strong enough.  I noticed people are using the 2mm Robline Ocean 3000 Dyneema Line.
https://westcoastsailing.net/2mm-robline-ocean-3000-dyneema-line/

Take your broken line and try to get one with a similar size.  Good luck.
p.s. I am attaching a portion of Hobie Stowaway rudder manual which might be helpful.  If you need the rest of the manual, just let me know.

Paul

Thanks for the link Paul.   I ordered 50ft of this 3000-Dyneema-line.

Got the new rudder line today and tried to fixed the rudder up/down lines but ran into problem reaching the handle assembly mounting hole to reassemble it.  I can't reach it from both front and back hatches.  Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

A long handled or extended ratcheting socket wrench with a hex headed socket, you can get a magnetic bit to hold the bolt and reach it perhaps. I have yet to get a Hobie so not sure.

My hard to reach repairs on the Stealth typically involve sting and some kind of trolly system to remount any mounting points that are accidently removed or damaged on my hull.

I use a mirror somewhere to give me some vision of where I’m headed on these blind hopeful adventures… :smt006

I have used a trash picker as an arm extension to reach places.

Thanks Paul.   I have one similar to the one in the picture.   Will give it a try.

Kinda funny, my first trip after reading and commenting in this thread, my rudder cable developed a fray and caused some pretty awful steering as the fray interacted with the housing.

So, I ordered some fresh cable and replaced it last night. I went with this cable:

49 Strand Stainless Steel Black Vinyl Coated Cable Kit 30' with 10 crimps https://a.co/d/2oGqP3K

Seems like a significant upgrade over the standard stainless bike brake cable it was originally assembled with. This stuff has a super slick plastic coating that glides in the cable housing very smoothly.  Package came with enough cable for me so replace again, but hopefully it holds up for a while.
